Generation Alpha?

We know that generation alpha will not be patient while a trainer or teacher explains during an hour a powerpoint presentation or writes on a chalk board.

Pushing knowledge will not work anymore, learning will be more about pulling knowledge by letting the student discover in collaboration with his peers.

Learning will have to be provided own time, own place, own pace and own style.

As style, generation alpha will prefer to use smart devices and no longer books.

Exams will have to be open book and the teacher will become a coach/facilitator to stimulate the students to evolve in their competence and skill levels.

Courses will become learner centred and no longer curriculum centred.

Each individual will need a personalised program and will learn in collaboration with other individuals in the future classroom that will become in part mobile and virtual.

What should you do now to be prepared?

Prepare your classroom and learning staff for the new generations.

First consider the TPACK method: every program or learning tool should establish the right balance between Pedagogic, Technological and Content knowledge.

Some e-learning methods find the balance between content and technology, but are not pedagogic at all

Old learning methods in schools and companies had a good balance between content and pedagogy, but have no technological dimension

Preparing your classroom and introducing the new way of learning in your organisation is not always that easy and that is why Ricoh Learning Services helps customers in defining this project. During a vision workshop we explain how to find the balance in TPACK and what the effects on the new generations will be. Then we brainstorm with our customer to find the best way for them to start the transition. Not every school or company is the same, has the same needs, learning culture or possibilities.

We will not only provide the right training to prepare your staff, but can deliver the right collaboration tools for your new classroom
